At Decus we have several in-house binding authorities and facilities specifically designed to assist in the efficient quoting, binding and certificate issuance for small/middle-market business.

The property team we have built at Decus has a varied experience base with an excellent underlying knowledge of several areas of property insurance. Whether it be placing a specialist facility for a portfolio of business, broking smaller accounts under one of our in-house authorities or placing large multi-state programs we have the ability to consider them all.

As well as the standard US property coverages, we have access to numerous markets with appetite in the following specialist catastrophe areas.

  • Deductible Buy-downs
  • Standalone Terrorism

We are able to offer bespoke Homeowners policies for your High Net Worth clients, and have the most success with individual properties where the standard markets have declined to provide terms.

We aim to respond within 24 hours as our facility is written 100% with the largest underwriter of High Value Homeowners in the Lloyd’s market and, as such, we have a single access point with them. We also aim to issue full Certificate of Insurance within 7-10 days of binding, but always within a maximum of 30 days of binding.

Commercial Property

General Property

Limits: Up to USD 5,000,000 any one risk – we can quota share combining one or more of our facilities to obtain higher limits where required.

Risk Type: All Risks, Wind/Hail only, DIC including stand-alone Earthquake and Flood, Wind and Earthquake Deductible Buy-downs, Primary Excess, and Full Value Limits available.

Occupancy: All types considered with no specified restrictions. Each risk is judged on a case by case basis.

Flood

Limits: Up to USD 10,000,000 any one risk – Primary or excess considered.

Risk Type: All commercial and Residential properties considered.

Zones: All flood zones considered, including A&V, CBRA, and non-participating areas.

Wind Deductible Buy-backs

Limits: Up to USD 5,000,000 maximum recoverable.

Risk Type: Any. We have had a great deal of success on builders risk projects as well as regular residential and commercial properties.

Occupancy: Any locations which are prone to windstorm and/or hail are considered.

Homeowners

High Value Homes Coverage (HO3 / HO5 & DP3)

Our markets cover comprehensive coverage for high value net-worth homeowners located anywhere in the USA or the Caribbean with a maximum capacity of $25m.

Unit Owners Coverage (HO6)

Our markets offer insurance for the owners of condominium units nationwide with a minimum coverage A of $10k. Rating favours larger newer units.
